I have an older Red Label with the blued receiver. It has fixed chokes Mod/Imp. Would it be possible to add screw in chokes or are the barrel walls too thin?

Unless it's changed at Ruger I asked this same question to them years ago.I have a very early production 20 ga Red Label that's still unfired.Mine is choked SK/SK
When they came out with the screw in chokes I asked Ruger if the screw ins could be added to my barrels. At that time they were not able to or weren't offering such a thing. That may have changed by now.I wish I could tell you exactly what they said but after all these years all I remember was no they can't.

5Screw, Brownell's sells the tools to thread the barrels for chokes. The reamer is $120 and the tap is $180. After spending $300 on tools, you still have to buy a set of choke tubes ($42.50 each). Not a cheap project!

Thanks, maybe one day I'll give it a try at the range.I wish back then they made them with the screw in chokes. It has a nice looking Walnut stock but nothing really special in the figure of the stock.I bought it at a department store in S.FL that carried allot of long guns and ran ads in the local newspaper.Tells you how long ago that was.I had originally bought one choked in F/M.The manager agreed to take it back a day or so later and I got the SK/SK instead.Try doing that today LOL.

They threaded some mighty thin bbls on a Browning skeet gun for me.
