does anyone have any insights on this paticular model as far as strengths and weakness? Looking at it for possible CAS. Other than price, how does it compare to say the savage 311 in function/durability????? |

My father had one when I was a kid. It was in 20 Ga. I used it quite a lot. It was not a bad shooting gun, quality was comparable to the others in it's class like Stevens and savage. I seem to remember the triggers were kind of close and pinched my fingers other then that I remember liking it.

...built solid!... Th' 24 handles well, too. And, I personally like the way the reciever is so nicely rounded. Had a couple of sixteens in "recent times" and really like them. Oughta be great for CAS.... |

I have a model 24 in 16 gauge. Points well and is slim enough for CAS... you don't feel like you are swinging a big, clunky shotgun using a model 24. The serial number on mine shows that it was built in the 1950's and it has held up well through the years. The bores are still mirror bright and the factory metal finish still looks good. Love that old-time Winchester quality! |

IMHO the slickest-looking SxS shotgun ever made. |
