Was lucky enough to have collected two of them (with a little help from my friends).....1 stainless & 1 blue'd ....Love them both evenly...They do exactly what I expect them to do.........no more no less.....Won't ever give them up......

Happy Collecting & shooting!

Peace!

So I ask, who among you loves, as I do, the Mini? I have a 14, 30 and 6.8. Each are the new version with new barrel contour and are stainless synthetic. Even with the well documented shortcomings of this platform, I still find myself inexplicably drawn to it time and again. I actually prefer it to an AR. Yes, I do. I know I'm not alone in my preference, however, it sometimes seems I'm the only one to admit it. It must be the ergonomic quality.
I love my mini14 and came here to learn more about it. The world seems to be nutz about AR's and hate Mini14's why is that? Mine is sub Moa out of the box, and a lot easier to maintain than an AR, yet every site you go to seems to demonize the mini14. I use only Ruger mags, all 15 from 1 5rounder to a lot of 20 & 30 round mags. Never a rifle or magazine problem. I use only brass and never steel. If TSHTF I have everything from S&B ss109 penetrator nato to 77gr BlackHills 5.56 Even got some fragmenting ammo that
is made by Winchester for Mil & police in 5.56. Just hope I have enough.

My mini is a 181-4xxx bought new in 1978 and still shoots great. It's one of the oldest rifle I own.

I sure like my 580 ranch rifle- when they come up the hill they won't know what got 'em, a mini or an AR....

Love my AR's but I take my Mini out alot more. So much easier to deal with the Mini and in my opinion the Mini is just as accurate with irons.

I love my mini 14. Part of the reason is the Garrand style action.

I added an Osprey holo sight (old eyes).

There is too much bashing of the mini. The last five or six years ruger has continued to improve it's product but get's no respect. The target and tapered 16 1/8" barrel put it on par with the average AR, and some are better. I came here to hear some excitement about Rugers products. I get depressed on those hate Ruger sites.

WRONG. read up on them. know difference at all, rugers shoot the 223 and 5.56. check it out.have a safe and warm day.p.s. i shot 1000s of rounds of both. check your mags. p.s. i should have said i use to, not able to shoot any more, but my grandsons use both. the minis run fine with both 223-5.56.

Thumbs up Plenty of Ruger Mini 14 fans!!!

Hey rugerfan, I wonder have you really been looking enough? Seems to me there are plenty of Ruger Mini 14 fans right here. I have had a Mini 14 since Christmas and I know I have posted atleast 6-8 threads asking questions and such. I like the AR-15's but the Mini 14 was more to my budget needs and I love my rifle shoots any loads I feed it!
