Question Is It Legal In Connecticut

Does anyone know if it is legal to purchase any of the Mini 14 models in the State of Connecticut, subsequent to the passage of the new laws?

Believe it or not the CT law seems clearer than the one in NY.

Only the tactical mini is banned. The rest pass the test.

If you check out Hoffman's in Newington they have tacticals that they took the flash hider off and added a compensators. They look just like the original flash hiders.

I just don't understand the lack of logic. The Mini 14 in the Evil Black stock is BANNED, but the Mini 14 in the wood stock is OK.

Feinstein's AWB was the same way.

Last time I checked they were both the same gun

What Mini 14 is banned in CT?

Specifically Named: Ruger Mini-14/5F folding stock model only

Then we can't have a Semi Auto rifle which can accept a detachable magazine and has one of the following:
Folding or Telescopic Stock
Pistol Grip or Thumbhole Stock or the like
Flash Suppressor
Forward Pistol Grip
Grenade or Flair Launcher

Also it has to be longer than 30" in length.

So, the majority of Mini 14s are good in CT.

Exactly! It's all right up there with banning the guns with bayonet mount. Really? I've never seen anybody shooting their black rifle with a bayonet attached.

That being said the following models of the Mini 14 are banned:

KMini-14/20GBCP
M-14/20CF
M-14/20GBCPC
M-14/5GBCPC
KMINI-14/5T
KMINI-14/5TH
along with the M-30/20GBCPC model of the Mini30

It is all about cosmetics, we all know that.

Stag Arms has stated that they intend on introducing a CT compliant AR. It has to be an AR in a straight stock, no flash suppressor. I assume this is pretty straight forward to do.

Our governor, Stuttering Dan, was pretty cool to the announcement declaring that "They will do anything to sell guns" (paraphrase).

Well, duh... that is their business, which creates jobs in the state. Time for him to shut up and just live with the absurd mess he has allowed to fall upon us.
