Question mini 14 ranch model??? on the fence...

My buddy decided to sell his mini 14. I am thinking about buying it. The current market in sw ohio is about $1300 from what I can tell. He never shoots it (or at least not in the last 4-5 years) and it looks new.

Should I get it? And how much money is a good offer for it?

I just pick up a new one here in WI from one of my LGS last week for 795. I think if you look around and wait for the right deal you won't have to over pay to much for it!

Gosh, if he's a buddy he would sell it for what he paid plus a few bucks for the mags. If I was to buy that gun, I would add $100 to his original out of pocket. If he doesn't accept that offer, I wouldn't consider him a buddy.

$1300.00 in my neck of the woods would be way high.

I agree, that's way too high. Are you sure he's a friend?

$1300 is too high even in this market. And I speak as a Mini 14 lover who owns two Ranch Rifles.

I've seen 1300. I wouldn't pay that for it (which is why it was still in the store). I am thinking in the
700-800 range for the gun, 10 mags, & 1000 rounds of .223. I should have given more details.

Not for $1,300. Not even for $1,000.

Seems in the range along with the ammo, mags. Might also depend on if you are the only one that wants it.

$725 tactical version with ATI stock locally in December.

Yeah, if it were for the gun only, I'd never think of paying that much. The ammo and magazines are a plus. It also has a scope.

Hmm, that's still a couple hundred high depending on what kind of scope. But depending on the magazines (is a few 2 or 6?, are there any other magazines other than the "few" 30 rounders?), I guess it's not a total rip off in today's environment. If you were the opportunist type, you could sell the same rig plus ammo for a lot more to some of the people paying crazy prices out there.

edit, I just saw your other comment about 10 magazines. Yeah, if you want it, it's not a bad price today.
