10/22 All Weather Bipod issue

Nevermind I answered my own question. I feel like an idiot total NEWB HAH!
After viewing the manual and looking at the stock it seems I cannot mount a bipod on this model. :/

All I have to say is....."The internet is your friend." for a total newbie to the gun game and the 10/22 I finally found the solution. A picatinny rail barrel band mount and a picatinny rail sling mount. No drilling needed and adds to the "tacticool" functional factor.

Mounting a bipod to the barrel will cause pressure on the barrel and affect the accuracy.

At close ranges it will not be a big dean but at 100 yards or more.......

But mounting the bi-pod to the barrel band shouldn't cause any pressure should it?

Go get yourself a sling swivel, drill and put it in your stock. Attach bipod to swivel and carry on.
If I were you, I would remove the barrel band completely, its pointless.

Thanks for advice. I will take into consideration. I will shoot first without the bipod mounted and then shoot with it and see the difference.

Not sure but have heard the barrel band if over tightened can affect the barrel as far as accuracy? I don't understand how a sling screw can affect accuracy? Enlighten me, please? did I miss something? I don't see anywhere that anyone is trying to mount a bipod to the barrel? That to me just doesn't make sense on any gun? Anyone ever see a bipod directly mounted to a barrel?

Barrel band holds my heat shield on. I got rid of the polymer one and got the aluminium one. This picture shows the new barrel band, I painted it black.
I also drilled and tapped the stock for the picattiny rail with laser on the bottom. Which will support a bipod, I tried it. The polymer is very tough.

Again thanks for the suggestions and patience for this new 10/22 owner. I will post pics of my build once done and bring to range and share range experience as well.
