I have heard rumors that Magpul is looking to make mags for the 14 and 30. If this is true, I am sure Ruger will consider including them with newly produced mini's, like they do with the SR556 mags. Until then, I would stick with the Ruger factory mags, I have never found an aftermarket mag that was as dependable.

I have used the new Tapco Gen 2 mags in my Mini 14 with zero issues. For about half the price of factory mags...well worth trying them out.

I'm taking delivery of my new Mini-14 Tactical next Wednesday. Can't wait to get it to the range and this information is helpful as I need to buy some more magazines.

Plus one for the ruger factory mag. They work. No problems. There are cheaper prices than the ruger web site for the mags. Enjoy the mini-14.

I've never used anything but Ruger mags. They have worked flawlessly. I look at it this way. The rifle is as only good as the mag you put in it. Figure knowone knows what works better in a Ruger Mini 14 than Ruger.

I have one (pro mag) that works great in the .380 Bersa...Even after reading all the don't buy promag, they are junk post and reviews.
I looked at one and compared it to a Bersa factory mag and decided for the price I could afford to give it a try...I must have gotten lucky???

I have 1 aftermarket mag for my Mini 14 can't remember the brand, but it's a jamming piece of junk! I now only shoot Ruger Mini 14 Factory Mags never had a jam or malfunction! Bought mine thru CDNN cheaper then thru Ruger so my same thoughts as Roadking Rider!!

Yes, factory mags are more expensive, but they work. If you can't aftermarket a reliable product, don't sell it. I will not tolerate an inferior product, regardless of price.

you know it's not like the ruger mags are ridiculously expensive. if they were $100 per and you could get a tapco for $5 that sorta worked, sure, i can see the inquiry.
get and use the mags that work--from Ruger, and quit wasting your time worrying about how to save a few dollars on an inferior product.

My factory mag that came w my Mini would fail to feed. Ruger replaced it. I have four Tapco Gen IIs with no failures.
