Sr556E accessories

Hi !. I have the Sr556E with a leatherwood CMR . I love this rifle !!!! After running a lot of different ammo threw the rifle I found that 55 grain Hornady Steel Match allows me to hold sub MOA all day . Here is my delema I bought the Ruger handguard covers that screw on . I'm wanting to find screw on handguards in OD green . Where can find any after market products? After trying a single point sling I'm going back to a two point ( old school Marine ) I'll use the MI screw on quick release sling keeper. Any help greatly appreciated.

For different colored rail covers you will first have to purchase the rails and screw them on to your forend, then the world is yours as to the different types and colors of covers. But if you do the rail then covers it will be a fatter grip than what you have now. As far as different colored covers that screw directly to the to the forend, there may be but I don't know any. There are other companies that are starting to offer these newer slim forends but the options are not that great right now, but they seem to be becoming more popular.

Hey Jim,

I just bought an SR-556E and I faced a similar problem. The Ruger shop is really the only place that you can buy the rails and rubber handguards for this specific rifle. Although I did find another site that sells rails and accessories for the SR-22, which has the same hole profile and thread size. I bought a MI sling mount and a few 5 3/4 rails for the sides. It is way more reasonable than the Ruger Shop, and the rails seem to be identical. The only rail they don't carry is the full 9 inch rail, which I unfortunately had to buy from Ruger. I plan to mount the two 5 3/4 rails on each side and install 6" Troy handguards over each (for the heat).

Here is the site. I hope this helps. Either way it is good to know that there is at least one alternative site to buy rails and accessories that fit the SR-556E.
