mini 14 build complete

About a thousand dollars later my mini 14 is complete. Its got an Ultimak scout rail, Aimpoint 9000sc red dot, Accu-Strut, barrel is chopped down to 16 1/2" and threaded to 1/2 x 28" w/ a Sure Fire flash hider. I plan on getting a supressor sometime in the near future.

Nice looking rifle. Have you taken it out to range yet, curious to see how much the Accu-Strut improves the grouping. I've never heard of the Accu-Strut until now, just looked it up since I saw your post and may get one for my old thin-barreled mini. Plus, it really gives the mini a sweet M14 look.

To be honest, I didn't see much of a difference. But I have a 581 series mini with the tapered barrel so that's probably why. But for an older mini with the thin barrel I would deffinely reccomend it. I've heard nothing but positive reviews

I'd like to see something like that in a mini-30.

Curious. What has this done for weight distribution and total weight? Current balance point on mine is about even with front of magazine opening with full size scope and no magazine.

Its a bit front heavy with the strut, scope and rail and its gotta be close to 9 lbs. Im a big guy 6' 2" 220 lbs so it doesn't bother me much. My 16 year old scrawny brother maneuvers it just fine too. Its a blast to shoot. We were getting some decent groups at rest tonight at 100yds. The red dot is awesome. I love shooting both eyes open

Nice looking rifle. That flash suppressor would apparently make it illegal in California, unfortunately. That Aimpoint 9000sc appears to be very similar to the Aimpoint CompC3 that I use on my own Mini 14.
