I've been really looking at the PC 9(carbine) and it takes a P series magazine. But with the naked eye the "SR" magazine looks identical to the "P" series. Which would BE GREAT(!) for me because i have 8 SR9 magazines. Now the question (LOL you see where i'm going)....does the "SR"9 magazine work-fit into the PC9 carbine? Thanks in advance. You guys have a grat forum...cheers Bart

SR9/PC9 Magazine interchangeability

I actually own a PC9 and an SR9, the magazines do not swap.

The PC9 can accept P Series magazines (P89-P95 that is) which are 15 rounders, but you can find 33rnd magazines to run through a PC9, but they run about $45 a pop. I've been thinking about picking a P95 as a fun range buddy for my PC9 (which is a BLAST to plink with or target shoot!).

Personally not a huge fan of the DA/SA trigger set up on the P series. It's a creepy trigger with a long reset, but a smooth pull. The problem is the let off point doesn't break like glass, it just kinda mushes. The SA pull is light and long enough that it's hard to tell exactly when it's going to drop the hammer. Striker fired pistols like the SR9, Glock and XD have much better triggers in my humble opinion. Short, light and crisp, just how I like them.

DasButch, have you had a chance to shoot the big brother in the SR family the SR45 what I'm hearing from othe ruger SR brothers and sisters that its on the top of the list. Myself included I've put quite a few rounds down range and the only thing I have to compare it to is a Glock 21 (a little more full bodied then the SR, I'm glade I have large hands) which was my first striker fire pistol and when my friend and I were talking while I was visiting in Prescott that Ruger had a new SR45ACP Striker F. I couldn't sleep for the next two days until returned to Oregon:eek: It was late when we landed but, I was up early and was looking, first LGS to answer and they weren't open for bussiness but, they had one and I was there shorty after they opened (second week in Jan.). and I haven't looked back at my Glock. Don't get me wrong I still give it equal time with it's Ruger cousins. He is the odd one out. The 13 round mags. still put him in the fun factor.:p:cool:;) I also have the KP345 and yes like you mentioned it's a long DA pull after that SA it rocks on target

SAO is the way to go for semi autos in my book. 9mm is my caliber of choice because ammo is cheaper, magazine capacity is higher, recoil is lighter, and follow up shots are generally faster. Because ammo is cheaper, I can practice more, therefore, I can be more proficient with my 9mm than I could with a .45ACP simply because I have limited funds for ammo. 9mm hollow points are more than acceptable in terms of stopping power.

I am a bit recoil sensitve in my dominant hand, after having the 25mm feeder/receiver dropped on it a few times, and being pissed @ the Army and punching things, my right hand isn't what it was when I was young. Shooting Full House .357 Mag loads through my SW 686 Plus gives me pain that shoots down my wrist and around my elbow. 9mm doesn't do that to me, that's why it's my caliber of choice.

I'd also like to add, 9mm has a bad reputation from the military's use of ball ammunition, which lacks stopping power. Hollow points or polymer tipped rounds do not suffer from the poor terminal performance that is associated with 9mm in the military.

Back in the day you could find 9mm anywhere. Now, it's getting very hard to find and only in small amounts.

Im kind of new to this, just recently I purchased the pc carbine 9mm.
It was suppose to come with the glock magazine, but did not.
Instead it came with a ruger SR9 9x19mm. Of course I haven't fired it yet, waiting on the FMJ's. I'm looking toi pick up more magazines but after reading some responses here based on the p series vrs sr series now im confused which one to buy. Any
advice
