First Thread/SR556C questions

Hi,

Long time Ruger fan and owner. I just ordered an SR556C which should arrive early next week. I've also ordered a Cavalry Arms C1 stock with which I am going to switch out the factory stock because I'm just not a fan of collapsible stocks. Have any of you done this or know someone who installed a fixed stock on any of the SR556 models? Were there any problems? Thanks in advance for any assistance. tf

Well welcome to the forum. You will like the SR556. I switched out my stock for the Magpul CTR and it couldn't have been easier. I couldn't tell you how for a fixed stock though. If the Calvary doesn't come with instructions I would just search the web.

I'm not familiar with the stock you are referring to but the SR-556's come with a carbine length lower receiver extension(buffer tube) and will not work with an A2 stock, there is an adapter/spacer that allows the use of the A2 with carbine buffer tube. You should call Calvary Arms and ask.

The stock to which I'm referring is an A1 (5/8" shorter than the A2).
