Unhappy AR-556 Barrel Nut Issues

Hello all, first want to say new to the forums and happy to be here! So getting right into it here's whats going on. So I want to put a free float onto my new AR and when I went to remove the barrel nut, but I couldn't get it to budge at all. I have an armorers wrench, the upper is in an upper receiver vice block and secured in a vice(obviously) Gas block and tube are removed as well.

I have seen that freezer to heat works which its sitting in the freezer now but I wanted to see if anyone else could provided help with my issue and if anyone else has ran into this with the AR. Also the gun has not been fired yet because I have been working on it since I got it.

I had the same issue...When I did mine, we used a dedicated barrel wrench on a 18 or 24in breaker bar. When we couldn't get it to budge, my gf's father held tension on the wrench/breaker bar and I gave the actual wrench a couple of wacks with a mallet and it finally broke free. Hopefully that helps. Good luck with however you get it off!
