I have used about 50% Wolf steel cased ammo, and the other 50% whatever 55 grain brass cased ammo was on sale the day I was at the store. All have run fine. My rifle has yet to have a stoppage of any kind.

oldag will become famous soon enough
You should be able to run any American manufactured ammo without any problem.

Can't speak for the cheap Russian/Chinese/Botswanan/etc. stuff

Everything I've tried, (AE, WWB, PMC, Independence, Hornady, MEN) has run flawlessly in my AR556. All of it is brass cased, I don't run steel case in any of my firearms.

Federal M193 5.56, IMI 5.56, PMC .223 and 5.56, Tula .223, Perfecta .223

All of it shot without an issue. I have shot maybe 500 rounds of Tula .223 without an issue. Steel cased/bimetal are fine for our rifle.

Black Hills 60 gr. V-Max, or Freedom Munitions 60 gr. V-Max. My SR556 & AR556 love that stuff...

I have shot mostly Federal American Eagle 55 grain .223 Remington, 55 grain M 193 5.56 NATO, or 62 grain M 855 NATO, all of which has worked fine.

I did try shooting around 80 rounds of steel-cased Russian 55 grain .223 Remington (Barnaul) through it just to see if it would cycle properly and it worked fine.

The bi-metallic projectiles of the Russian steel-case ammo are banned at many ranges and they do result in more barrel wear. Lucky Gunner did a test to confirm this. However, the round counts required to shoot out the barrel with steel-cased ammo were high enough that the cost savings would have bought at least one new barrel, if not two.
