Question Noob question about the PC9

I've been hunting for a PC9GR for awhile and picked one up on Friday. I haven't been able to get it to the range today, that will have to wait till next weekend, but I do have a question about a rattle: When I first picked up the weapon it had a slight rattle near the trigger when you rotated it side to side, when you charge it, pull the trigger, and hold it the rattle goes way. I field stripped the weapon and noticed that something that I guess is a trigger sear (maybe?? I didn't get a manual with this PC9, so I haven't yet found an exploded view print out for this weapo), its a small flat metal arm that seems to sit somewhat loosely in a open housing built into the stock, and slides or moves slightly from side to side. I was wondering if that's normal. A side note that maybe useful to this question--though I am no expert on these things, many people have mentioned that the triggers have a pretty heavy pull; I think this particular PC9 has a short, smooth, not very heavy pull, so did someone maybe monkey with the works on this model? I'm taking it to my LGS on Monday and have there guy give it the once over, but any info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

You can download a PDF version of the manual from Ruger's website.

Sounds like maybe a broken slide stop assembly? Post additional info after you've had time to review the manual.

Welcome to the forum.

Well, not being great with an exploded view, I would say it's the Lever actuator, it looks to be the right shape and it sits in a little slot at the back of the stock in the trigger assembly area. It's loose, and wiggles in the slot and can be pulled out slightly. Like I mentioned in my first post, when you charge the weapon, then pull and hold the trigger the lever tightens up in the slot. It could be normal play in the mechanism, the only reason I wonder about it is due to the trigger, which I find perfectly fine, it doesn't seem heavy or long in the pull, as I've read about while finding info about these weapons when initially looking into them. By the way, the slide stop appears intact and it functions.
