New SR762 Inbound

After doing a lot of research, and relying heavily on my SR556 experience, I went ahead and ordered a new SR762.

Unless it gets lost in another snowstorm between here and Texas, it should be here next Wednesday.

I'm already researching optics, ammo and magazines.

Regarding optics, I'm a real Vortex fanboy but the Burris Eliminator intrigues me.

Regarding ammo, I think I'll just pick up some low to mid grade ammo to start with and give the barrel a good break in. Then I'll get serious about recording accuracy with a mixed group of bullet weights and manufacturers.

For now, though, it's a waiting game.

Do you plan to add a suppressor to it?

No, I won't be adding a can to this one.

I haven't picked anything yet.

What aspects of the Burris line leads to you making that recommendation? I'm open to any optic as long as it is good quality.

MK Congratulations! Hope you enjoy it. I am considering buying one myself (just bought an FN 45 Tactical, so I have to wait for a while to replenish the play money).

Could you please let us know how you like it? I have been reading a few posts about the SR762 and I am a little worried about the FTF and FTE's complaints.

I am a Ruger fan, I have a RPR in 308 that is a blast to shoot!

Thanks.

Hector

I'll be sure to do a thread on unboxing and first impressions, followed by a first time at the range report, Hector.

I think the FTF and FTE issues have either been solved or can be solved. I'm not too worried about the issues...yet...

I love mine! I had a few issues with it when using a suppressor but that's all sorted out now. Ran great by itself on setting 2. Mine likes Sig 308 Match ammo

I remember reading your thread and your solution. So the 8.5 buffer is working out ok?

Yes, the 8.5oz buffer works great. I tested it with several different ammo brands (see photo) Without the suppressor (gas setting 2) and with the suppressor (gas setting 1) everything runs great.
