Initially it had a pretty thick block on the rod in front of the Steel Buffer which disabled bolt lock mechanism because it was too thick. Got buffers and heavier Guide spring from Accuracy Systems out of Colorado. Couldn't tell any difference because I hadn't yet shot the rifle. Seems to be pretty smooth at this point and the Bolt Lock is no longer an issue.
Welcome to the forum, ml98188.
The Mini-30 is a fine carbine with a few mods.
Doesn't make sense though to use buffers then put in a heavier recoil spring.
One is slowing things down and making things smoother, the other is speeding things up and making things more harsh.
Kinda like stepping on the gas pedal and brake pedal at the same time.
Heavier springs aren't necessary at all, but do give the guys at ASI more money in their pockets.

I recommend keeping the recoil system stock and spending the money on an aftermarket stock and red dot sight (with the G&G custom mini series mount) The recoil is hard, but that keeps the gun cycling as reliable as an AK with steel or brass ammo.

One thing I've learned about Ruger firearms is to leave the insides alone. They usually get them perfect but often their stocks and sights leave something to be desired.
