Mini 14 Tacticle - Have you shot one?

Been looking at the Mini 14 Tactical #5847 and #5848 Black, NOT with ATI stock, unfortunately I haven't been able to actually hold one.

I picked mine up today but have yet to shoot it.

Regardless, holding it, it's pretty nice, wish it had some rails on the sides and top for mounting stuff, but beyond that I like the idea of a synthetic stock like on the SS version, and the BEST feature in my opinion is the flash hider, both for function wise and to protect the crown of the muzzle.

I've got a second one on order for next week and hope to shoot them both soon. Nice and light, short and handy. Kind of like an M1 carbine sized .223 gun. Feels smaller and handier than an flat top 16" AR.

PS - Buy mags NOW!! I ordered 6 from CDNN so I have 8 between the two guns (his and hers).

They are making some with a metal railed top piece on the forearm. My local gunshop just got one in.

I need it on the left side ONLY for a light (don't like gripping the rail and or w/ covers on the bottom and on the right side), I'm thinking a small piece of rail and some liquid nails are the answer here.

I have had a tactical about a month..have shot several hundred rounds through it.

For a rail, I suggest the UTG(leapers) rails sold by Cheaper THan Dirt. They make a small and a larger one.

$10 and $20 I think.

Gun has been reliable, I DID have to adjust lips on 20 round Magazine I got with it..It would not hold bolt open on last shot. It also would go back into battery if you pulled the magazine.

The follower must go high enough to prevent that. Took 10 seconds.
