Custom Ruger Mini 14 Stock

So how long do you think I should hold out on my check from Ruger? After all I just fixed there birch stock and added a logo to it

But I always felt the Mini was missing something on the wood stocks. Never have I seen a factory mini in a wood stock with a grip cap. So we really need to fix that, and I felt the Minis need a better paint job since birch wood is a light color material. So here is my idea of what a wood stock Mini should look from Ruger. Also, as far as the logo on the grip cap goes, I cut it out of a Ruger 20 round factory mag box. It had the hawk with the "R" in the middle of it. But this is how a Ruger wood stock should look like.

Very nice work Kame - you've got a gorgeous Mini there.
The dark finish really pops and the logo looks factory - bet the Ruger folks take notice.
Been thinking of doing up a wood stock for my stainless synthetic and you might have just pushed me over the edge.

As far as the dark finish goes, it is 2 coats of red mahogany, and very thick in some places on that second coat. And as far as your stainless mini goes, all I got to say is... wood, wood, wood!

Thanks! I had clear gloss on it at first, but it really didn't match the 20 year old bolt and receiver. So I sanded it down, scratch up a few places on the edges and went with a semi gloss.

LOL here ya go. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005JTAVUG...ing=UTF8&psc=1

The elastic string that comes with it does not work well to keep it on tight. Get some para cord (parachute string) to tie it down. Start the first loop behind the sling lug and it wont budge.
