No, but I've installed them on a few rifles. They look cool if nothing else.

Welcome!

Welcome to the forum. I don't think they are necessary. What the heck do they do anyway.

They are anti-rotation pins, when steel pins rotate in an aluminum lower its causes the lower to wear.

I've had 4 AR's. I know that's not a lot by many people's experience but I've never needed those kind of pins.

I can only guess that they would be needed in very high mileage guns or they're just another one of those things that some marketing guy has scared us enough to think we'd better have them.

It depends on the trigger you use. I know that CMC and POF recommend using them if you install their trigger. On the other hand, Geissele recommends NOT using them.
I have them on one AR that has a POF trigger. Apparently, the trigger pins can walk if not used with the POF.

As long as your pins aren't walking, I wouldn't bother.

If your pin or pins walk out, then yes.
They are very easy to install (the KNS pins anyway).
If your pins do not walk out, then no need.

I had to put a set in my Ar556 at about 2,000 rounds when the hammer pin began to walk out.
Thanks
