BTW I recently got a 762 w/Gen 3 PMags and it runs flawlessly... S/N 066XX. Only thing odd was that it didn't ship with the handguard covers, my LGS said all the ones they recieved have been like that. I'll call the Sturm and see what's up with that.

Tim

**Edit** Just got off the phone w/Ruger Customer Service and they are shipping the hand guard covers out ASAP. They had no clue why they were not included...
I bought some Ruger rifles at 2 local LGS and parts that were supposed to be with the gun were missing, scope rings and the picatiny rail kit on a MINI 14. I called Ruger and they sent me the missing items but I'll bet the store was taking the items and selling them on the side. I know that's what one of the dealers I dealt with was doing as he said I could buy the missing items from him. I reported him to Ruger but nothing came of it.

Just spent Saturday and Sunday at the range. I am pleased to say that the rifle performed nicely. Conditions on Sat were not optimal as the wind was blowing quite hard. Sunday was very calm and I was able to determine that the rifle shoots just fine, it's me that sucks as a shooter. LOL

The serial number is 051xx and the build date is Jan '13. Although that is a moot point now since they have replaced the upper assembly. I don't know if the bolt was replaced though.

The trigger still feels very rough though. Perhaps it's just me though.

That's hard to believe. What a low life. In the future don't accept any incomplete package and this will put the dealer in the position of replacing missing parts. I'm sure the manufacturers keep tabs on (missing parts reports) and he will get his just rewards someday. In the mean time don't use these dealers.

Glad to hear your rifle is working well.....Most likely they replaced the BCG if they replaced the upper. If you feel your trigger is not up to par, first I would have someone you trust fire the rifle and give you an opinion if you don't fully trust yourself.....If you agree there's something wrong allow three weeks away for the trigger to get replaced as its worth it....unless you want to drop $200 on an aftermarket trigger, which to me doesn't make sense unless you're shooting in competition or doing some serious hunting with the SR762....

On its way to CT.

Expect the next one to work...

Once it proves to work, will be installing a PWS PRC compensator. From what I have read and seen, this should really help keep the muzzle down.

I winter in TX and it's good to get back to NH where we have fewer gun laws than TX. Too many feel good liberals down there.

Off limits in TX for CC:

 On premises of a correctional facility
 On the physical premises of a school or educational institution, any grounds or building on which an activity sponsored by a school or educational institution is being conducted, or a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution, whether the school or educational institution is public or private,
 On the premises where a high school, collegiate or professional sporting event of interscholastic event is taking place, unless the license holder is a participant in the event and a handgun is used in the event
 On the premises of a polling place on the day of an election or while early voting is in progress.
 racetrack; secured area of an airport
 In any government court or offices utilized by the court, unless pursuant to written regulations or written authorization of the court.
 *on the premises of a church, synagogue, or other established place of religious worship
*On the premises of a Hospital licensed under the Health and Safety Code

The term does not include any public or private driveway, street, sidewalk or walkway, parking lot, parking garage, or other parking area.
 Public or private premises conspicuously posted with a Sign that meets these Criteria.

Off limits in NH:
*Courthouses

Oh yes NH permits are $10 all in with a background check and 3 references, shall issue. No classroom instruction just personal responsibility. Open carry is legal here as are switchblades. The state motto: "Live Free or Die".

Apologies for going off topic but some things just beg to be addressed.

in Texas it is actually legal to conceal carry without a license... you are legal to carry your gun to your car concealed and from your car to your destination concealed basically meaning you do not need a license to carry your gun concealed..... sort of lol.. but that still would not help with all the problems you stated

Kind of tough to drive your car in WalMart or HEB although some do try.
