Where can I find a factory replacement scope base rail? I got this rifle used and the dummy whom had it before me SUPERGLUED the base and screws to the gun. Big pita to remove it and ended up breaking the factory rail.
I removed it to do a little refinishing on the rifle from where it was neglected a bit and want to mount my Nikon P-223 on it now.
It is the black one pictured I am referring to.
The walnut stock mini pictured is a Gov issue 581 series. Gun Firearm Rifle Trigger Air gun

If your rifle is tapped on the top of the reciever by Ruger you could ask them to send you a Ruger rail and they will. There are two holes at the rear and one at the front right on the integral scope mount where the alignment notch is. The 581s might no be tapped at the factory like the newer 582s.

Looks like you have a 5848 Tactical. I have the same rifle. Actually this is a much better set up. It uses the Minis scope mount cut outs on the receiver and if you need to you can take the rail off with the scope still mounted and reinstall it with out loosing zero.

I use this and the rail your talking about.

If you want to go the original mount, call Ruger and advise them your situation and they might just send you a rail and set screws. If not I'm sure they will sell it to you at a reasonable cost.
