Thumbs up madmacs

his comps ROCK,the best. i have one on my gold lite, and he just made me a custom comp for my 10/22 tactical, the factory supplied ruger comp looks like the military style but i think it is butt ugly on an otherwise good lookin rifle. i have the stainless with black stock, no iron sights, and it looks so much better with madmacs multi hole comp. my camera is down so i cannot do pics.

Nice looking lite. I love mine.

Now for the stupid question... What's the purpose of a compensator on a little 22?

I was wondering the same thing. Though, it does look cool, but kind of like an air foil on a VW bug.

I am sure there is a tiny bit of performance rationale behind them, but my guess is 99% for looks lone.

Mine vents everything straight up and makes the front sight slightly dirty after a few hundred rounds. But, I simply had to have something to screw onto the barrel...

New 22/45 Lite pics

I bought a compensator for one of my Lites (the gold one)...the Tactical Solutions model in matte black.

Looks cool but I don't see any practical effect. I'd read same from several places before ordering but figured I'd be vain.

...don't plan on getting one for my black Lite.

Did you look into a suppressor? Now, THAT would be cool!

Yes, I am looking (researching) into the suppressor "process". I need to check on my local sheriff to see if he will sign off on some paperwork.

I was looking for an 1 1/2" length model, and he suggested that one. I was close to having him make one like yours, but shorter.

Mine is the glossy, it is a close match...
Yeah, I liked the one you choose as well. I like the idea of the shorter 1.5", but there was less to choose from in that size. Didn't even think about a custom.

And I agree with everyone, there's little to no apparent improvement. Louder for the shooter, but I'd bet its quieter down range for the same reason. Balance feels better by adding a slight amt of weight up forward. I don't like the idea of making a given gun longer for no real reason, but oh well.

I'd also like to eventually get a suppressor.

According to HiViz, they will have a front sight ready for the 22/45 lite in early 2014. Evidently, the height is different than others...
