I finally have the wife wanting to join me shooting and she loves the Purple model. I have tried a lot of LGS and can not seem to fine one. One store said they will request one and took a $100 refundable deposit to order one. They think it will take 4-6 months maybe more to get one. The cost for the gun was $360. I saw one on gun broker for $425 plus shipping and FLL etc. Will have to see which way to go.
I have seen them on gunbroker. Just decide how much you want to spend and keep an eye on the listings. It should not take you six months to find one as long as expectation on the price is somewhat reasonable as compared to what they are going for.
I saw one at Cabela's Hoffman Estates, IL, last week. I think they can do shipping to store or FFL. Not sure if they still have it, though. Price around $399 I think.
Cabela's is a joke. I called them and they will not tell me what guns the have in stock at the stores. I have to drive to the store just to find out if they have one. If they do I can not buy it on line or over the phone and have it sent to a FFL dealer in Vegas. Since we do not have a store here it will not be on option. I just don't understand why they have a policy like that.
Thank you very much. I was able to get the one on Gun Broker for $420. A little high but I need it for Mother's Day for the wife. I also called Hoffman's Guns in CT and they had 3 in the store for $329. However they would not sell to me because it was not on the internet. If I wanted the gun I have to go to the physical store and buy it. The guy said that the put them on the internet every so often and I will just have to keep looking for it. He said that they keep the ones in the store for their "customers". Well what am I? I just did not get it at all. Poor customer service.
Not that I love their store, but they have a HUGE draw around here. The two days before our new ASB went to vote, their store managed to completely shut down the 4 lane state road they are located on. It was completely insane.
Well we picked up the SR22 today. My wife is very happy. I did a field strip and cleaned the gun tonight for her. Tomorrow we are going to go put some rounds through it.
Congrats on finding it, buying it and now receiving it. I know you were searching for that particular gun. I get pretty picky about which guns I want and have learned not to "settle" for anything less than what I wanted. Because of that, all my guns are keepers.
Bolter303, under the circumstances, the $420 plus FFL fees wasn't a bad deal. Sometimes you have to pay a bit more than you would like to make something important to you happen. Congratulations, and I am sure that you and the misses will enjoy your time shooting together.
I agree, I know I paid a little more. I had a deposit at a LGS for them to order it. They told me it could be 6 months. I could of also paid $329 for it at Hoffman's but they wouldn't ship it I had to pick it up. So all in all I am good. My dad told me something a long time ago, "if momma ain't happy, nobody is happy". Se is very excited to go shoot it today I just hope all goes well.
