2245 lite reassembly?

Disassembled and cleaned my 2245 lite. Reassembled with no problems. Function test everything seems fine only now my magazine drops freely. I have not done any mods to it. Did I do something wrong. Don't get me wrong I wish it was this way from the factory but don't want any issues to arise if I fire it.

Thanks!

Does the hammer drop when you don't have a magazine installed? If it doesn't then most likely you're fine. If it does then you may have to go back in and check the components.

Initially, I have found many new Mark III's that will allow the mags to drop free, but that only lasts a little while. Later on as the pistol ages, the mags only drop about a quarter of an inch due to the magazine disconnector safety hook dragging on the magazine body.

Mine did it too. I thought I was going crazy.... Everything was followed to the T

I just pushed the magazine in a little further and it stayed for me. I havent tested the gun at the range yet tho...

Yes everything functions fine including the hammer. Inserted a mag about 30 times and would fall out upon release. Then it just started hanging like it always did before. Couldn't get to fall free again. Weird. But I guess you are right as to why. Thanks for the input. Went to the range and worked perfectly.

My 22/45 Lite does that too every once in a while, but it's not a big deal.

I was wondering if this had anything to do with the Mag safety thing....

Do you still have yours Eyaker?

It has everything to do with the magazine disconnector safety! That hook is pressing down against the magazine body and when you release the magazine, it pinches down on the mag body, holding it in the frame. If you remove the mag disconnector safety hook, the magazines fly right out of the bottom of the frame, just like they do in a 1911.

Yea I had to really pull on the mags to get them out of the gun. I am gonna talk to the gunsmith at my local range to see how bad they are gonna whack me for a trigger job and mag disconnect removal....
