| Old Ruger I just picked up
A friend got a bunch of guns for free and does not really care for them so he was selling them and I got these.
I think I got a ok price. the whole lot for $90.
A little revelation scope for my 10/22.
A Old Stevens/Savage arms model 58 12GA.
And this little old Ruger standard.
He had some other cool stuff I wanted to buy but did not have the cash.

Great old Ruger Standard. From the magazine in the pic, it would be a pre 1971 model. I have a Standard made in 1966 with the 6" barrel and it still shoots great. You can download the manual here.

From looking at the site I think it may be a 1964 but not sure.

I took the Ruger apart and it was not as bad as I thought it was going to be after hearing all the horror stories. I did manage to some how lose the firing pin spring but replaced it with the spring from a lighter and it's good to go.
I do have a question about racking the gun thought. The first time you pull back the bolt to cock the gun it seems kind of hard (harder then I remember the old MKII my dad has) is that normal? After the gun is cocked it super easy to pull back.
Well going to go pick up a few more off of my buddy for a family member not Rugers but I will post some pix When I get them.

Thanks, The guns are not in the best cosmetic shape and have sat with no cleaning or TLC for YEARS but I know I still did pretty well on them.

| It's because you are pulling against the hammer spring. Mine are like this as well.
