| SR22 pistol factory defect
I just bought a new Ruger SR22 pistol and straight out of the box I noticed that at the base of the barrel, the plastic triangular piece
on the frame that is suppose to be slid into the metal groove is on the outside. This created a bulge in the plastic on the side of the frame.
Is there a simple way I can separate the internals from the frame so I can reassemble it right or should I just send I back to Ruger?

If the slightest case of weirdness, it should probably go back to the mothership? They'll fix it and better than a dangerous malfunction? Without a pic it's guessing?

that puppy should go back to Ruger. Call them and they'll send you a pre paid lable to ship it back. Or take it back to the shop you bought from and have them send it back. was the slide on it when you got it ? I have 2 of them are both are great. Sorry you got a bad one. Welcome to the forum!
Sorry you are having issues out of the box. That is a disappointment. I would do as previously stated and bring it back unfired to the store where you got it or call Ruger in AZ. Having had some issues myself with a new SR22 I can understand you're frustration having just laid out the cash and now feeling like you have to deal with an issue. All I can say is that Ruger customer service is great and a very nice bunch of people to deal with. They will email you a next day air label to you for the firearm return, but in this instance I would assume you would get a new serial number replacement gun. They do their best to get you up and running again as soon as possible. I received a couple of hats during my ordeal to ease some of the pain. Now I look good at the range!
Although I loved my SR22 I ended up exchanging it for the 2245 Lite because of the wait for a new one to be manufactured. In the end I think I am happier because it was more accurate for me.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I can't really comment since the photos are not clear enough to see any detail. I would agree with taking it back to the shop where you bought it and see what they have to say.

I did call Ruger and they are having me send it back
I bought this at BassPro and with handguns they only let you look at a "floor model" since the one you are actually buying is in a sealed case which you cant open until you leave the store with it. So, I had no idea what I bought till I got home.
I made a video showing the details of the gun and its in HD so you can see it better. Check it out if you'd like!
...also thanks for those who replayed!

Sending it back is less of a headache (due to the legal system) and cheaper.

#1 Rule: Never buy a product without inspection first. If Bass Pro Shops have this policy, I would have simply shopped somewhere else. That being said, send it in to Ruger, they will make this right.
