First of all - welcome to the forum from West Virginia
Fortunately , I have not had that happen to me - yet, so I don't know the answer, but you are probably only minutes away from getting some good answers. Bullseye is very knowledgeable concerning Mark pistols.
I did here once that could be cause for a trip back to Ruger, but I would think there is a way around it.

Had a mate here that did the same thing.
He had to completely tear his down to resolve the problem.
He now knows his MKIII intimately.
But try the suggestions in MCPO's above link, they are the only options I am aware of.
And good luck also.

| You can make a tool similar to the one above yourself
What you have is a magazine that is caught on the mag safety disconnector hook and the upper window of the magazine body. The harder you pull the worse it gets. What you need is a long thin piece of metal, about eight inches long and a half inch wide, bent into a 90° angle along the length. Slide the metal up on the rear, right side corner of the magazine well, between the frame and the mag body until it stops. Push gently upward, into the mag well on both the magazine and the metal lever tool together. Then hold the lever tool in place and pull downward on just the mag. That should release the hook from inside the mag body and allow the magazine to pull free of the frame.
I gave this same advice a few weeks ago to a fellow on another forum and he was able to easily remove the stuck magazine from his pistol.
R,
Bullseye

That's pretty slow for a game show but quick for a forum !!
