| LCR-22 concerns
Haven't made it to range yet with my new one (hopefully Sunday) but have noticed two things I'm unsure about.
1. The frame has scratches from the extractor star, or some people call it the ratchet. In particular there are three marks above the lock pin hole that match three star arms. Likely from recoil pressing them against the frame during the factory test fire. I feel this will "wear in" and soon stop happening.
2. I loaded some empty brass for dry firing. Compared to a Single-Six or Bearcat, the firing pin impressions are closer to the edge, and more shallow. They still look adequate, though.
Anybody else see the same things with their LCR-22?
BTW, Birchwood-Casey Aluminum Black does work to touch-up this frame, just as the manual suggests.

1: I have the marks, since it won't rust I don't really care
2: if the rounds go bang when I pull the trigger I'm happy, and they do. Only one misfire in hundreds of rounds, same story with my 10-22s

I thought the marks looked typical, but I've never had an alloy frame wheelgun. My 357 LCR has the same marks, although very faint on its stainless frame.
I've never seen a firing pin this small, either, so the impressions looked a little odd.

I seems that all LCR .22s get these star marks.

Ruger wanted mine back after seeing photos of my star impressions in the frame. After a week and a half, they decided they can't repair it, and will be sending me a replacement in two weeks. Just got the news yesterday. I don't understand a two week span from the verdict to shipping a new one to me, but what can ya do? The CS ain't what it used to be.
It seems that some marks are bad, and some aren't. It looked like my lockpin bushing was below the aluminum surface, allowing the star to dig in pretty deep just from the factory test fire. Much deeper would have maybe interfered with cylinder rotation. I'm no engineer, though. Ruger may have a totally different evaluation.
