Thanks for the heads-up. I mistakenly posted the pictures off of the secure server. You should be able to see them now within the post.

success!

I have to give a huge Thanks to Bullseye as this wouldn't have been possible without the knowledge. After an hour of dremeling to open up that gap, the new grip frame and 22/45 receiver finally mated, though they are tight. I have to take it apart some time in the future to install a new hammer bushing (stupid magazine disconnect) but that will come. I actually like the stock trigger of the mkiii standard a lot, it is way nicer than what my 22/45 was when I first got it. So, I don't think spending money on another sear and trigger from volquartsen will be necessary.

The new gun is real nice cause it's all stainless steel and feels sturdy and balances much nicer.

The 22/45 lower went on the new upper easily as expected. The lower is tricked out with volquartsen stuff and is awaiting a new llv.

Very nice looking pistol. I can appreciate the feeling of success you must have felt after mating those two components. I'm sure they'll shoot as well as they look together. I have some other help pages on my website that may come in handy in the future, you can look at them here Gun Talk Online

As for separating that tight receiver, try using a dead-blow hammer and leave the bolt in the receiver for some extra surface area. Just be sure that the hammer is in the fully rearward position and the magazine well is empty when separating the two halves.

Good luck and enjoy your new pistols.
