I've got an LCR 22 and as much as I like it if I could only have one rimfire handgun I'd want something more accurate. So for now it's a toss between a SP101 22 or a single six hunter, leaning more to the latter for hunting purposes and longer range accuracy.

SP101 22. I love mine and have had no issues with it.

I am lucky to own one of almost everything Ruger has to offer except a Bearcat. It will definitely be the next thing on my list of "must have guns". I've owned a single six and a MKII for 40+ years, but I have no idea why I don't have a Bearcat.

| Well since I have a 5.5" long barrel SS and a 4.5" Talo slab side(Mark III 22/45), and the TD 10/22, I am pretty sure I would get an SP101 .22. |

Well Firemanjones, I think that I'll side with your idea. Mama found an e-mail that I sent to the dealer planning on getting my three Henry rifles and a combo 22lr/22mag 4" Earl, but I went on to say that I'd be getting two Ruger handguns: The Single Ten and the SP101, both in 22lr. My spouse has a pretty good memory and said "What's this three handgun business?", "You said you were originally getting only two handguns!". So I got caught and had to make a decision and I chose the SP101 over the Single Ten. (I tend to prefer the double actions and eight shots in a double action is as good as ten in a single action). I'm still tickled pink as I'll be getting five guns that will be perfect for the indoor range and each has a place with my kids/grandkid when I'm gone. Smithy.

It's not the gun for me, but there clearly are plenty who love it seeing how it's been in production seemingly forever (1960s isn't it?). | |
