| Came close to buying a 22/45 Lite today
One of my LGS suppliers has the 22/45 Lite in stock and after playing with it for 15 minutes or so earlier today I just couldn't decide if I liked it or not.
I have a Mark III 5.5" bull barrel and I just ordered the Hogue panels for it from Midway, but I have been wanting the 22/45 model as well. I like the steel barrel model with the removable grips but just not sure about the Lite. I think it is the gold color barrel with the notches. If it were stainless or silver with flutes I might like it better. It does feel very good in my hand. With my old eyes the front sight would have been a problem as I had to put a HI-Viz on my MK III.
At any rate, I didn't buy it. Would have been $342 out the door and I could have been out back shooting it now. It was close.

I have been thinking strongly about the Lite also.
And like you, the gold colored barrel is kind of iffy with me.
Not sure if I like it.
$369.95 here.

The gold doesn't appeal to me either but I've never seen one in person.

Wish I could see and touch one... they're not available in CA. But if they were, it would probably be at MSRP (maybe more) in my area!

I've had mine for a couple of weeks now. I also had the same thoughts on the syling. To me it feels great in hand and its just as fun as my Hunter model. I now love its syling and enjoy the idea of having a gun with a very " different" look. On the other hand, if you don't like how it feels in your hand and could not bring yourself to plunk down the cash after seeing it in person. You probably would regret the purchase. There are plenty of other cool models to choose from. I've been thinking about that single ten revolver that a fellow member (weblance) posted.. Good luck!

I bought one a few months ago for $369. I don't care for the gold color either. Black would have been better, but it's still a great gun. I've put almost 1000 rounds through it and it hasn't had any problems. I ordered 2 spare recoil and magazine springs from midwayusa and a Black Dog ambidextrous kydex holster from cheaperthandirt because it came with both height adjustment clips. It serves me well as a target practice and lightweight wilderness carry gun.

I came across one the other day. One of my two LGS had just got it in. Supposedly the first one in town. I liked it and was surprised at how well it balanced for being so lite. I continplated buying it and didn't. The next morning I went back to look at it again and it was gone. Oh well, live and learn. I don't feel too bad though, they were asking $399 plus tax.

There will be other color options coming, if you can't stand the gold you might want to wait.

Denis | I wonder how many colors they will come out in, I'll just have to get the full set.

Ruger won't say this far ahead what & how many the colors will be, just that there will be others, and other "geometries" aside from the current gold & "cocking serrations".
Personally, I still think the thing looks more silverish than gold.

I got the chance to handle one at my local cabela's today. It is VERY LITE!! lol. felt like nothing in my hand. Was priced a bit high, so I passed on it. I do already have a 22/45, and an SR22, so not in a huge rush to get another .22 lol. I will say that the gold in person is not too bad, and I do kind of like it. It's not as GOLD in person as it is in the pics from ruger.

i was very suprised to see one in person, to me the "gold" looks more silver.i liked the gun so much right away i traded my 1963 hi standard r-103 4" sentinel revolver in on it. i ordered a ncstar reflex silver red dot to go on it. i am serious, the gold isnt bad, maybe it is my eyes, but until i saw the box where it says gold anodized i thought the gun was SILVER!! cant wait to see how the silver sight looks. first range session maybe late this week, cant wait to see how it runs.i have added "daysiter" yellow dots on the iron sights, for 369. i am suprised ruger didnt do this at the factory!!! next will be the sr1911 beautiful EAGLE wood grips from shop ruger web site, i get a 20% discount because i registered my new gun with ruger. has anyone tried the loader they sell at shop ruger.com?? aint a new gun a great experience!! wow, what a high!
