2.2lb trigger after Volquartsen parts in myMKIII

My new parts arrived today from Rimfire Sports FAST shipping and great prices on Volquartsen parts. Got busy tearing the MKIII down and installing the new parts and things went pretty well until I goofed and installed the new sear backwards
Then I remembered that my Sam Lam bushing hadn't arrived yet so I had to put it back together with the mag safety

But the trigger went from 4.4 lbs to 2.2 lbs even with the mag safety junk.
Pretty happy with that results and I will test her out at the range on Tuesday.

Todays mods:

Hogue rubber wrap around grips with thumb rest and finger grooves
Stainless hex head grip screws w/O rings
Volquartsen Exact Edge Extractor
Volquartsen Ruger Mark II / III & 22/45 Target Sear
Volquartsen Ruger Mark II / III Adj Target Trigger, Black
Volquartsen Ruger Mark II / III Extended Bolt Release (not sure I like this)

All for under $100 shipped !

Still on their way

Sam Lam bushing
Williams Fire Sights
MKIII magazine bases to convert my 22/45 mags to fit the MKIII

Did the complete VQ on my MKIII Comp, with the exception of the extended VQ Extended Bolt Release. Left that out and stayed withe stock Ruger. I didn't care for the looks of the VQ, either.

I don't care for the look of the original or the extended one. They both look flimsy, though they work fine. I would prefer the tab be thicker and look more like a machined part.

+1. Either one cold stand to be beefed up, but, to my eyes, the Ruger doesn't look quite as cheap.

MK III comming this week. Going to break her in, and get more familiar with the mechanics before doing the upgrades.
I've been tracking all the parts, and kits you all are useing on the forum, and want to order the stuff well in advance.
The question is, what is the best please to order from ??
VQ direct ??
Is it a one stop shopping thing, or are their a dozen different orders to place ??
Thanks

I always shop online for the best prices.

I found that the individual parts vary in price from store to store but I was looking for the lowest overall price shipped for the whole lot of parts. The best shipped price I found is rimfiresports.com (free, FAST, shipping, no minimum)

I put the VQ Mark II trigger kit in my Mark III - it gives the great trigger AND gets rid of the Mark III magazine "safety". It works great.

Has anyone else tried that?

I went with the extended bolt release. Don't care much for the looks either, but I'm left handed and I can release the bolt with my index finger.

I used the Mark II accurizing kit in my Mark III, since I already had the Mark II hammer bushing to replace the mag safety. I got the kit with the stainless trigger, too, as I felt it would be more durable.

I did not use the extended bolt release, as I do fine with the original and the extended one may gouge a holster. I also stuck with the stock springs. The VQ springs made the trigger too light for my taste. The stock springs still gave me a lighter trigger than the gun started with.
