New SR22p

Hey all,

I just posted a Range Report about my new SR22p, along with an update on the LCP & LC9.

All I can say is I was impressed with the SR22p! It needed a minor elevation adjustment(1/4 turn). It was on at 25' & more accurate than I thought it would be. 250 rounds, no problems at all.(Federal 36g HP copper-plated value pack)

Also checked at 50 & 100 rounds for slide damage, loose barrel, & take down latch damage. No problems at all.

A neat little gun & lots of fun!

It really is a nice little .22 cal. Although it is cheaper per round to fire, it can go thru lots of rounds in a very short time.

Yeah....it's gonna be my next one. The Ruger production slowdown is actually a blessing in disguise for my budget.

Sometime this summer ..... Maybe a self-Birthday present!

Hi Guys
Yes it's a great little gun. I've got two one for the wife and one for me. I've run about 450 rounds of Federal bulk thru both with no problems at all. Not as accurate as my MKIII but still good.mndoggie thank god the McFadden speed loader won't work with it or Federal would have to add another shift to keep up.

I'd been thinking of getting extra magazines for my SR22 before I had a chance to shoot it. First time I went to the range, I had only 40 minutes of shooting time and was able to run 300 rounds thru it. I was hand loading my two magazines. I even used the broom a couple of times cuz the empty brass was like ball bearings.

Normally I wouldn't try to get that many round thru it in that timeframe, I just want to do a quick break in and shake down of the little beast.

In my case, having a loader and extra mags would just cost me an arm and a leg....

(PS I live about 15 miles from the Federal plant and know many of the employees... they have been running extra shifts and overtime since after the last presidential election.....)

I had absolutely no plans to buy a SR22, not on my purchasing radar at all.

I was at my local gunshop (Cabelas) with a wad of cash. I was there to see their sale model Remmingto 870s and Mossy 500s. They were out of both. Looked down into the glass case and saw the SR22. I asked to see it and didn't let go.

I brought it home. My wife, who knew I'd been planning on getting a shotgun, saw the little box and said " I don't know much about guns, but I know shotguns don't fit in little boxes like that."

I grinned.

If you see one, grab it. Birthdays come faster every year. Use the "senior moment" excuse.

Mndoggie been there done that. Took the wife to the ranget for the first time and let her shoot my Mark III. She enjoyed it but said the MKIII was a little heavy. came home went a Rugers web site to see if they was anything lighter and saw the SR22p which I didn't even know exsisted. Called the GS where we were shooting see if they had any they did. Back in the car 1 SR22P. Happy Valentinesday Hon. Got the gun home went the range two days later. shot loved the gun. Bought one for myself. They were getting $319 for them.
