.22's are finicky at best. 2 rounds are more likely ammo related than the gun. I have had 2 CCI mini mags not fire out of 500 rounds through my Henry rifle.

i had 220 cci stingers through mine and just one misfire. no slide damage and the take down lever looks pristine. looking to go to the range next week and put 1000 federals/remmington gb through it.

Next to Remington Yellow Jackets, the Automatch is my next choice...not a problem with either.

Those remington golden bullets are dirty and smokey, at least out of mine there was a giant cloud of smoke with each shot.

I am having the same problem. I sent my new SR 22 back to Ruger. They replaced the extractor and the spring. They didn't say it was bad they replaced it. When I got it back I had 3 rounds fail to eject out of 300. I was using CCIs and Golden Bullets. I just called Ruger. The Woman I talked to said 3 out of 300 isn't too bad. Really???? She is going to talk to a tech and have him call me. I have a buddy that has never had a round hang up.....using mostly CCIs.

Failure to extract/eject can happen and I even once had someone get a stovepipe on my SR22 as a result of limp wristing.

So far I only had one instance where the spent case was jammed and cycling the slide failed to extract it and I asked an RSO for assistance and all he did was rack it more vigorously than I did and on about the third try to the round popped out. I think that was my second trip to the range with the first firearm I owned.

I have since had some failures to fire and failures to feed with a variety of ammo but nothing that made me think there was something wrong with the gun.

Some 22 is dirty than others so cleaning behind and under the extractor is important.
I haven't kept track of round count but between the SR22 and 10/22 it must be approaching 10,000 and except for cases where the magazine wasn't feeding properly I'd say I've had maybe a couple dozen failures of any kind so maybe one in every 500 rounds or so. I've been using mostly Remington golden bullets lately with little to no issues. Many of the failures to fire were with federal bulk, some with two or three strikes with no boom and had lots of issues with American eagle so gave those of a relative with a 22 revolver.

I was the NRA Convention in St Louis just after the SR22 hit the market. I talked to the Ruger rep about reliability and ammo, he told me that it is reliable as long as you stay away from Remington ammo.
I have a SR22 and he was right, it will run any ammo but the Remington Golden Bullets.
