SR22-Are they all having problems?

I have a new SR22 coming to replace my old .22 standard.

Are they all having the slide & take-down latch problems, or is this just an isolated case?

Mine is fine. About 600 rounds through her and she is doing great.

I haven't even seen a SR22 yet, none in my area, checked Davidsons sight with gun geni and they show zero in stock, would like to try one if I ever find one.

If you are comfortable buying one online, there are TONS on GunBroker.com. Otherwise my local shop has them Nelson Tactical, Carrying the cutting edge in firearms...

I have not fired my SR22 but I'll report what happens after I get at least 1000 rounds through it. Have two Federal bulk packs ready to go.

Champion Arms in Kent had one a few days ago. I bought mine from Bullseye in Tacoma. Not sure where you are located in Washington.

Not a bad idea to add a SR 22 but I would never replace a Ruger standard with a SR . Are you getting rid of the standard ?

I had some problems with it ejecting properly, I sent it back to Ruger(31 years old) & they said it was not fixable due to barrel damage.
They offered me an amazing deal on a new MKIII, but I asked if I could get the SR22, and they said yes, so they are shipping one to my LGS in 2 weeks.

I am excited!!!

Please post your results/opinion. I got concerned after hearing about these take down lever & slide problems.

I've put about 250 - 300 rounds of different brands of ammo through mine, from weak as heck Winchester to hopped up CCI Stingers, and have no problems at all with the slide or take down lever.

That was actually running on whatever lube was on it from the factory. I just took it down, cleaned, oiled and inspected everything and see no signs of dings or gouges on the slide like others have reported.

Hope it works out for you.

Hey I was just playin with one at Nelson tactical last weekend. Seemed like a pretty nice little gun. Its a toss up between that and a Sig Mosquito.

I have a friend that has one coming next week. We have a whole brick dedicated for it and wont stop shooting till its gone!
