chris, it is good you sent it back. I just bought the pistol yesterday. The slide stop does not contact the slide unless I push it up to engage it. Yiogo

This will be thread to watch, This is the way the Walther P22 started out then cracked slides came next. I hope this is a problem that can be corrected, I would love to trade my P22 for the new Ruger SR22

I'm glad you posted this. My slide actually looks worse then the ones pictured. 1200+ rds through mine. I'll be calling Ruger up tomorrow.

Yiogo | But it probably contacts the slide when the last round is fired and the LRHO (last round hold open) mechanism is engaged by the follower...

Received UPS tracking number from Ruger today that my SR22 is on it's way back to me and should be here by Tuesday. I'll let you guys know what they did to correct the problem.

First thing I did when I got mine I took some 600 grit paper and sanded the top of the slide lock lever nice and smooth.
I also lock-tite'd the barrel screw with some blue lock-tite.
Call it preventative break in?

I think mine is doing this ^^^^ to itself (less the barrel screw). There is a very small wear mark on my upper slide lever that faces up inside the frame.

Well, its Steel Vs. Aluminum..
The steel slide lock lever is going to win. If its sharp, which mine was fairly sharp. It will scrape away at the aluminum slide. Simple as that.
Take some 600 grit paper and smooth that top edge of the slide lock lever down and they should simply just slide together nicely without too much wear. I still figure that the anodizing on the bottom edge of the slide will eventually wear off, but I dont predict and large issues since the slide lock lever has been sanded.
Just my 2 cents, if it makes any sense!

Got my Gun back on Thursday. No extra magazine but that is ok. Slide and slide catch were replaced. My gun had "SR22 Pistol" on the slide, the new one just says "SR22". 40 test rounds were put through the gun at the factory, no malfunctions. I don't see any wear on the new slide. Gun came cleaned, lubed, and ready to go. I am going to try and get to the range this morning to test it out. While I was not happy about having to send my brand new gun back to the factory, I am pleased with the way my issue was taken care of.

Yeah, same here. At least when they sent me a spare mag and a hat when my LCP came back! |
