I have both. They are both accurate and reliable. The NEOS is the 6" version and the Mark III is the Hunter version. I cleaned and lubed both before going to the range the first time. My wife prefers the feel of shooting the NEOS and I prefer the feel of shooting the Mark III Hunter. The NEOS was much cheaper and is much easier to disassemble and reassemble.

Looks aside, I much prefer the all steel construction of a Mark Standard or Target version. Few guns can match a Mark for down the road durability and longevity. My forty + year old Marks/Standards still shoot like a house on fire. My '65 Mark I could still be used for competitive shooting, right now, as is. I'm sure the Neos is a good plinker and a great value, but a Mark is the better value way down the road and it will hold its value, better.

I have a Ruger Mark III 22/45 Lite, and a good friend has a Beretta Neos.
We've shot each others guns. He's happier with his, and I'm happier with mine.
Neither is a bad choice. I happen to think that the Ruger is a better choice though...
Except I had to make some modifications to be 100% happy:
1. The Ruger really needs the magazine dis connector modification to make it enjoyable. I did mine about a month ago, and have been very satisfied since.
2. I've also replaced my magazine follower buttons with Mark I buttons. $2 each from Ruger. (part number A02502) That was a BIG improvement.
He's still shooting his Beretta Neos just like it came from the factory.
So, I paid more up front, and had to make some minor modifications to be 100% happy. He has made no modifications.
I ain't rooting for the Beretta Neos, I'm just saying that Ruger needs to wise up. A customer should not have to modify a gun to be happy with it.

I have had a Neos and it was OK. I liked the Ruger better, sold the Neos to help fund the Ruger. Like said earlier the Ruger will out last the Neos and if you do have a problem with it Ruger will take care of it, Period.
The Neos I had I had to adjust the rear sight to where it stuck over the edge of the gun, I hate that and could not cope with it. I did not give them a chance to fix it, Ruger tough that's what you get with the Ruger.
