| Optics for 22/45
Long time enthusiast, first time owning a Ruger.
Picked myself up a new 22/45 with the threaded barrel and figured it would be beneficial to find a friendly forum for tips, tricks and advice. Just bought a new grip, Volquartsen trigger, sear, mk 2 bushing and hammer to drop in. Also a PAClite compensator and new OD Green hogue 1911 grips. Should look and shoot great. Now I just need a red dot or reflex recommendation. Looking to spend under $125. Any ideas?

Bushnell TRS-25 seems a very popular choice. It's much smaller and more compact than your typical red dot, which seems like they were built with rifles in mind. At ~$70 from Amazon or opticsplanet.com, it's a very reasonable price for what many seem to think is an excellent scope.
FWIW I might be in the market for one if the existing red dots I have just seem too heavy or bulky for my tastes. The red dots I have had were mounted to an AR and a Sig 522, and they worked great in those applications, but they aren't exactly the most compact choices, either. I'm just going to try them on the 22/45, but I am thinking that a smaller scope will be the ticket there.

TRS-25 is the sight I will be picking up just after the holiday. If you get it before the first of the year, you can get their $30 mail in rebate too so a $70 optic turns into a $40 one.
