OK I went to the range yesterday and fired the p22 for a few hundred rounds. I am used to having spent casings in my hair, both arms, shoulders, down shirt etc.... but yesterday i got a fresh HOT casing under the top of the safety glasses and burned the crap out of face an inch below eye... Do Rugers typically do the same or do they send the casings in a fairly safe direction?
Want a reason to get the MKIII and I think I found it but would like feedback on where the brass goes.

I've never been hit by a shell casing from my MK III. They spit out nicely, almost 90 degrees from the firearm.

I've never had brass from any Mark series hit me when I was the shooter, and I shoot left handed as much as I do right handed.

I occasionally get hit by casings. I shoot L.H. and they bounce off the divider but never into my eyes, usually off my right arm.

Stew | You know, I never thought about it, being a rightie, but that is an inherent problem shooting left-handed with any automatic.

I am left handed too. Every now and then I get hit by a casing. It's usually a rebound from the dividing wall.

Both my Mark III's extract the empties well away from me. Now sometimes I feel an extracted .45 from my new SR1911 hit the top of my hat.
