Lightbulb I must be crazy

I just picked up MKIII Hunter, Love it. First thing was a scope, a 2x7. So now I'm thinking, I they can put a but stock on a Glock, a 1911 and of all things a Crossman Air gun, Why couldn't someone make one for such a Awesome pistol as a MKIII. I looked a the Plastic one for the Crossman, same grip angle. So I'm wondering, has any one else tryed or even thought of this? Any feed back is welcome.

Wouldn't that technically make it a short barreled rifle and thus illegal without jumping through all the ATF hoops? I would make absolute certain its legal before trying it out.

Ruger MK II or 22/45 carbine conversion. I assume it'll work on a MK III (?) Tactical-Life.com » Ares Defense Tactical RCU .22 LR

The barrel must be at least 16 inches in length and the overall length must be 26 inches or it is classified as a SBR no matter what it started as, and falls under the NFA rules.
