10/22 Magnum

Whatever happened to this? I remember seeing a Ruger add for their 10/.22 Magnum. I even asked the owner of a LGS to let me know when they became available. This was many years ago, but I never heard why they weren't manufactured. I still want one.

Awards Showcase

They where manufactured, maybe two or three years tops. I have heard of issues with frame cracking, but don't know that first hand. I would imagine poor sales is what killed it, as at the time they where 2 or 3 times the price of a 10/22. They sell on gunbroker now for $700 and up now!

Kenny53 will become famous soon enough
They had a short lived run and then discontinued. I guess there was not enough interest.

There is a company, methinks Magnum Research, making a 10-22 Mag clone - in a bunch of different models. Used the same magazines too. Well, I should say they were available up until a couple of years ago AFAIK. I still have one on my want list - but it's still a couple of years out due to finances ...

I seem to remember the Ruger magnums having pressure issues? That's what I heard anyway.
