Blued Mark II mainspring housing...copper?

Hello, All,
I have a blued Mark II Target, 5 1/2" bull barrel; "214" serial number prefix.
I bought the gun last year, used, in like new condition. This has the common Ruger three-piece mainspring housing assembly; but where the three pieces of the housing are brazed together, there are copper-colored lines running the full length of the housing. I am guessing that copper was used in the brazing process, but this is the first time I have ever seen a blued mainspring housing with copper-colored lines where the pieces were brazed together. This is NOT rust; I cleaned the housing thoroughly in a way that would have removed any rust. Has anyone else seen this, or is my housing a "factory error" of some kind? I hope someone can fill in my knowledge about this, especially someone who has seen this before.
Thanks,
kean57 (Jim)

Hard to tell but it looks more like stainless.

Weird.

Yours only has "copper" at the seams. My (225 prefix) mkii housing is "red striped" down the entire width of the middle piece. It also has the same strange red stripes across the front and back of the rear sight:

My mkiii is the normal blue color in both of these places. Makes you wonder what Ruger was doing back then.

Does anyone know the actual manufacturing process for the blued three-piece mainspring housings? If it is brazed, copper would be an ideal metal to use for that process (needs to be a metal that melts at a much lower temperature than the metal you are joining). Can anyone confirm that Ruger used brazing in the manufacturing process?

Mystery solved!

Hello All,
The mystery is solved; Ruger uses silver solder between the sections of the three-piece mainspring housings, to braze them together; the silver solder looks "coppery" when it can be seen on some blued mainspring housings. So, if anyone else sees these "copper-colored" lines between the sections of your blued mainspring housing, you now know why. It simply means some excess solder flowed out between the sections during the manufacturing process. It has no effect on the structural integrity of the part; it is simply cosmetic. Thanks for all the kind replies,
