Ruger Mark IV question (rails + red dots)

I'm looking to install a red dot, potentially a Burris Fastfire III, onto my Ruger Mark IV Target Stainless. I've never added an optic to a pistol before.

Has anyone used the Ruger picatinny rail? Item # 90623.

A shame that the Ruger rail does not come in stainless, but I noticed Tandemkross makes one (that is also $34 or double what the Ruger costs).

I think I may go with the Tandemkross, but am concerned because some of the reviews are not good.

Opinions? What picatinny rail are you using?

After looking at the stainless steel color in the pistol, the black body of the Burris Fastfire III, I figured it wouldn't look too strange to have a black rail. Ordered the Ruger rail and the sight. The Fastfire will be here Wednesday! It will take longer for the rail, probably by Saturday. Hope the sight fits the rail. A couple of people on the web have said the rail isn't deep enough for a lot of sights...

That's the same mount I bought for Ruger. It's a perfect fit for the Mark IV

I used the Ruger supplied rails for Burris FF 3, UltraDot 6, C-Mark and Simmons Prohunter Scopes. Good fit for all.

If you register your Mark IV online with Ruger, you will receive a 20% off coupon that can be used on the mount. I don't know about the bad reviews you saw on the stainless mount but even at twice the price of the blue model, I'd suggest not letting $17 decide against the stainless if that's what you want. At the same time, if you are going to buy a blue/black optic, I'd think the blued mount would be fine.

Here is the Ruger mount on my Mark IV.

I got the Ruger black scope mount and the rail for my Mark IV because I was not sure which one was needed for the optic sight. I used the 20% coupon for registering the gun with Ruger. I think either would have worked but the rail gives better adjustments. Will post pics soon.....

I used the TK unit on my stainless MKIV. No problems here at all.

I have a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red Dot mounted on my Picatinny rail on my .22/45. It works great!

All of my Mark IIIs came with weaver mounts -- silver for the SS guns.

Here is a Mark III with an Aimpoint RDS mounted.

Hers my Mark IV using the Ruger rail and I removed the rear sight to get the rail farther back and to clean up the looks.
