What a beautiful gun.
Ruger seems to crank out (in a nice way) a lot of commeratives, special editions, and special order guns. Most of them are pretty much stand-alones. In my opinion, they're like most commeratives and hold their value as shooters. The value of the thing they commemerate is up to the buyer.
A while back, I bought a SS Vaquero in .40 S&W that was made for the San Diego Sheriff's Dept. Like you, I can't find my gun mentioned anywhere either.
It's a difficult market, but as long as the gun is worthwhile - and I'd sure say that yours is, they're good buys if offered at a good price.

What did you pay?
Thanks, Karl

Kgcabs, when I had asked him why he was selling the Victory, he said he wanted to purchase a lever action hunting rifle. A Marlin 45-70 Guide Gun, and the Victory was to fund the purchase. He said that it was the one handgun that just sat in the safe and never gets used. He was asking $550. I got it for less.

Never been fond of those commemoratives because of the extra cost and the drop in that collector value when fired. Looked at a NIB Mk II Standard that's a NRA commemorative of William Ruger 1916-2002 with white grips for $315 at local shop but passed on the gun. I have a very nice Mk II why buy another?
Anyone interested PM me for info where it's located.

Anybody have any idea of how many were made? I just picked one up NIB for $490 delivered. I understand that MSRP in 2004 was $499.

Was a special for the US Shooting Team, distributed thru the TALO group of gun distributorsand about 2,600 were producted.
Think it is a beautifyl version of the MKII and you have the correct teal colored case for it, from the photos it looks like it is complete, nice find! They go for around $400+ NIB.
