Scored a Mark I with muzzle brake

Struck gold! A used 1960 Mark I with (original, I think) muzzle brake at the LGS and he gave it to me for $300. Disassembled, cleaned and polished and it's ready to roll.

I threw in a pic of my current Ruger collection....started with a Mark II in 1992. This yr bought a new MIII 22/45 Lite (which is fantastic) and found a used Mark III Hunter for $125 that just needed some love, a trigger job and new grips, and today's Mark I.

Nice find for a MK I T678 with the early 'micro' rear sight as well as a 'factory' muzzlebreak ....hard to know or find out if the gun actually shipped with the 'break' as they came in a separate brownish box.......gun did NOT "fit" in its origianl box with any 'break ' on it........doubt if any factroy letter would tell you either.........would have been awesome to find the original box, shipper and the muzzle-break box, for the complete "package"......NICE gun

Thank you. I asked my LGS if he recalled who sold it to him (hoping for the box, etc) but he didn't know.

Does the pin beneath the front sight need to be punched out before I can twistthe muzzlebreak off?
