MY NEW Ruger MK IV HUNTER

Stopped in the LGS to get some cleaning supplies and there on the corner of the display case was a new Ruger MKIV Hunter . .

Well in NC if you have a CCW you do not have to wait the 7 days for a pistol permit so that lovely lady is now at home with me. The stock grips look fantastic but I used the 20% off from Ruger for buying a new gun to order the new target grips for the MK IV. In the meantime I can't wait to get it to the gun range to clear out her throat . . I will post range pictures soon as I can...

Just got mine a week or so ago and haven't been to the range yet with it. But, I absolutely love the feel of this new gun and the new take down was way over due.

Congrats got mine last week and they are a great gun. I have the Mark I and this is just the best improvement. Ruger did this one right.

I am wondering if Volquartsen will come out with trigger upgrades for the MK IV. I prefer the adjustability and feel of the VQ triggers over the Ruger. I often wonder why the gun companies do not offer their own upgrades but I guess they want to leave those things to 3rd party manufacturers...

I started out with brand new Ruger MKII and MKIII STAINLESS COMPETITON SLAB SIDES.
Over the years I started substituting components until these two now have ZERO RUGER parts. I put all the original Ruger parts back together and sold them for more than I originally paid for them. The weight differences are astounding and you can shoot these all day with no fatigue.

These both sport Tactical Solutions Pac-Lite uppers and all Volquartsen Lowers.
10 inch on top and 8.5 inch on bottom. Neither of these barrels is made any more - only 4.5" and 6" barrels are offered now.

HOWEVER, I was really happy to buy the MK IV Hunter and I know it will be a great shooter too....

Very nice....all you MK IV guys need to stop bragging about the easy takedown because I'm jealous
I have wanted to use my 2-year old MK III as a boomerang quite a few times already

Want to sell the ones you are taking off? I bought the target model and don't care for the black grips.

The new Ruger Target Grips arrived and they are really nice. The extra width and finger grooves really give a much more solid grip feel and I think this will improve accuracy..
Will see once I get it out to the range. Compare on the pictures of the original grips on original post.
