The only local outdoor range is only open Wednesday through Saturday, and I hate indoor ranges, so tomorrow I get to take it out to play. It's almost too pretty to shoot. Key word: "almost".
Welcome to the forum, Harry! Congrats on your new Ruger. Let us know how it shoots.

After taking the MKIV out to the range I realized I do not like Fire Sights. I do not like the way the DOT in the front sight is BELOW the top of the sight frame and I do not like the way it is supposed to fit down in the V of the rear sight. So I ordered from Ruger and replaced the Fire Sights with the RUGER TARGET FRONT AND REAR SIGHTS. Along with the TARGET GRIPS I guess you might say I now have the very first RUGER MKIV TARGET STAINLESS STEEL PISTOL !!

I prefer the TARGET SIGHTS much better on all my handguns and now the SIGHT PICTURE on all of them is the same . . . .

Looks great! But I have to point out that there is a target stainless model:
Ruger® Mark IV™ Target Rimfire Pistol Model 40103

Nice work on personalizing your new Mark IV. I like everything about my new Mk. IV Target (blue) except for the trigger pull which is long and on the heavy side. Hope that can be improved soon. WB

When I bought my MKIV the TARGET only came in BLUED so the Stainless Target is new. In addition my version of the TARGET has the longer barrel that I prefer so my new version is still unique.

I just got my target grips today I really like the look and feel of them. Total round count is well over 2000 since I bought it in late October.

I don't know what it is, but I just can't see myself leaving my III behind to go for the newer IV. I've taken down my III so many times I can do it blindfolded, so I just don't have a reason to. Mine functions perfectly and is more accurate than I'll ever be especially with it's Burris Fast Fire III on board, so if it ain't broke... well you know the rest.

Hi guys, I just got a MK4 Hunter and the ejector is loose. Do you mind please checking your MK4 if the ejector is also loose? Also the Bolt is a little skewed on my gun. I have not shot the gun yet.

Thank you

I just checked the ejector on my Hunter and it is tight with no movement. The bolt looks just like your bolt.

@ StraightShooterII - thanks for taking the time to check your gun and for taking the picture. I will hopefully shoot this bad boy tomorrow and see if it causes any problem.

I received the Volquartzen VC4AK Accurizing kit and installed on my RUGER MK IV . . The factory trigger pull was just under 6 pounds. The new VQ trigger pull is 2.5 pounds and a very snappy crisp feel. I have not shot it yet but I know the new Volquartsen trigger will increase accuracy.

The package directs you to the instructions ONLINE at VQ website and they are as good as any I have used. I have to tell you that the VQ Hammer looks nothing like the RUGER MK IV hammer.

The Ruger hammer has a spring and black metal bracket around it:

The Volquartsen hammer is very simple and looks like previous VQ hammers..

All I can say is whatever those things do on the RUGER hammer they are not needed and the Volquartsen Trigger and Hammer kit works great...

For the time being I am keeping the original sights in case I were to sell the Ruger. I really have my eyes on the new 100 year Commemorative Ruger Combo... but who knows what the future holds for us....
