Here's the new MK IV

This is a discussion on Here's the new MK IV within the Ruger Rimfires forums, part of the Pistol & Revolver Forum category; Looks interesting but it'll never make it through the iron curtain into the Socialist Rebublik of Commyfornia so its virtually irrelevant...

Didn't the Mark III do away with the heel mag release year ago? My Mark III Standard has a "normal" thumb-activated mag release.

If I'm seeing the photo correctly this new one has a bigger, ambidextrous safety. That's good.

Maybe their sheet metal bender fixture finally wore out and it was cheaper and simpler to change over to cast?

This looks very nice. Where is the one button for takedown located?

You put the muzzle down, you put the muzzle up, you put the magazine in and you shake it all about....

Considering they haven't even been announced, let alone shipped out... :roll eyes:

Probably because it's not announced and "out there".

It's on the Ruger website now, and I'm pretty sure they had one in the case at the LGS I visited earlier today, though they had it turned around to meet some sort of timed release requirement.

Basically, looks like a target version in blued or stainless and a hunter version (longer barrel) in stainless.

A little voice told me last week not to buy a Smith & Wesson Victory. The new Ruger looks a LOT better.

Jeff Quinn of gunblast and 22 Plinkster both have them and have videos up on YouTube.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a little voice telling me to hold off on a Victory - but I'm sure glad I did!! And, I have to admit I was off-base on my steel frame guess - it is machined not cast.
