Today I put money down on a 03-04 year Mark 11 target pistol. It is a real satin stainless sweetheart. It has a 5 1/2 bull barrrel, competition grips with thumb rest and seems to be in perfect shape. It came in origional box with two mags, manual and lock. It is ballanced very well and feels great in hand. I think I paid two much for it ($450.) but the shop owner would not budge and this was one of his personnal guns. It came with a one year parts and labor warranty. I guess I could have bought a new Mark 111 hunter for that price but, what can I say... fell in love. Besides, some burly looking fellow behind me wanted to touch her! Cant wait to shoot it.
The market for used MkII's in good shape has tightened up. I picked up 4 in the last couple years. Prices have been increasing. I saw a beat up stainless competition model a few weeks ago for $425. I passed.
All in all, I think you paid current market price.
I would not fret about the price. You have the pistol that you will enjoy for a long time. I don't think you got a bargain but you did not get ripped off.
Thanks for all the input. I feel good about the pistol. At any rate its a done deal and I am looking forward to shooting it next week. I think I will save alott of money while utiliizing more time at the range with 22 cal. vise 38,357 and 45. I also think I will enjoy the sport of target shooting with a pistol made explicidly for that purpose. Just concentrating on that center ball.
I have one in blue that I enjoy very much. I found one in SS that I couldn't do without, and bought it. All looked well but I couldn't shoot it well. Sure was pretty but I sold it. I don't know what was wrong, but pretty wasn't good enough.
I have P-512, Mk II, Target with a red dot sight that is a hoot to shoot. I was actually knocking-off dragon flies in a pond last week. The trigger needs help and I have some Volquartsen parts on the way and will incorporate an IBOK at the same time. My wife actually bought it for me for Valentine's from a pawn shop a few years back. Essentially NIB. Great little gun.
I think I've had mine for about three weeks now. I had always wanted one, since high school, when I first shot a Ruger Standard ! (1950's)
Here's Mine now. The scope is a Bushnell Trophy, 2X - 6X - 32mm. But, I haven't had time to sight the scope in yet.

I've had time to get to the range. Here's the best targets of the day. All targets are at 25 Yds. & shot with Winchester X-pert Lead H.P., & all target centers are 2".
Needless to say, I'm VERY HAPPY with this MkII !!!
I think I'll keep it !
Best 5 shot group, with open sights from pistol rest ;
I just acquired a second MKII. My first was bought in 1989 and after limited use fot hidden in the safe until last winter. Now it is used three times a week. I am dropping in a Volquartsen accurizing kit and grips. Hi Viz front sight and I shoot a bullyeye league. I am not a very god pistol shooter, rifle bench and shot gun competitions are many and I can hold my own almost anywhere. But pistols are different. But I got the bug and found a MKII slabside target SS with only 300 rounds through it. $400. I have seen them go for over $600. So feel good about the price. They might not get any cheaper. There are not many for sale. The MKII is the best of the bunch.
I've joined the club today. Ran across this used, but like new specimen, at a local gun store for the astounding price of $249 plus tax. I just knew I had to get it.
It came with two mags, but I went a head and ordered two more from the factory. I still can't believe I came a cross a deal like this, especially here in MA.
Wow and I thought I got a god deal. thats incredible. About a week ago I got mein from the seller. It was as advertised. LNIB. Put it on dros Monday. 9 more days. they use 11 days as a waiting period. Mine came with two mags original packing and bags plus rings. Can't wait to shoot it as I just accurized my MKII 5.5 bull barrel with a Volquartsen accurizing kit and volquartsen grips. The triger on the slab side felt good but Iwill probably do the same to it.
For what it's worth, the Mk II series is my favorite of the Mk series pistols. I've been looking out for a stainless Mk II to compliment my blued standard model but no luck so far as I'm trying to find a stainless standard model. Congratulations.
