put the slingshot kit and mag disconnect elim bushing from tk in my mkiii 22/45 lite
watched all there videos thought i got it great i rack the slide manually to chamber a round, it will fire, chamber a new round then pull the trigger and nothing, pull the slide back 1/4 in an let go then it will fire what did i d wrong on my install?
snowplow, Sounds like your disconnector arm is binding up. The disconnector arm is a link between the trigger and the sear. When a MK Series pistol is working properly, the disconnector is cammed down by the bolt as it moves forward. Just before the bolt reaches full battery, the rear of the disconnector will pop up and align with the sear. If it doesn't pop up, when you pull the trigger ... nothing happens. Look for a bind between the disconnector arm and the frame ... especially where the new bushing was installed.
If you have an adjustable trigger in your pistol you may need to re-adjust the pretravel screw, the new bushing may have slightly altered your hammer/sear engagement geometry. Try backing off of the screw approx 1/2 turn and see if that doesn't solve your problem. If it does be sure to re-apply a dab of thread locker to the set screw.
its all factory except the kanewolf and mag disconnect busing if some one could explain it like im 5 take iowegans explanation and put in easy terms or have a pic this is literally only the 2nd time ive had this pistol apart im used to 1911's so this thing is a bit voodoo
If you run your mouse cursor over the long silver bar, it should have a little pop-up description of the part's name. I know that this is the metal framed Mark III, but your pistol has almost all the exact same internal parts so this should help you with the names of them.
Since your pistol is factory stock, except for the bushing, the head of the bushing may be preventing that disconnector lever from rising. That is not an uncommon problem with using an aftermarket bushing and the factory disconnector lever. Some of the squared holes in the factory levers are a little rough around the edges and that can cause a hang-up. If you just reinstall the factory magazine safety lever/hammer bushing does the pistol operate normally? If so, then the new bushing is causing the issue. This doesn't mean the new bushing is out-of-spec it just means there's some extra friction that the trigger return spring cannot overcome, and that is the source of the problem.
The question once you've isolated the problem down to its source is - what can I do to fix this problem? One is carefully inspect the disconnector lever and the aftermarket hammer bushing for any sharp or rough edges. If any are discovered, then smooth them out and reassemble. If you cannot get the pistol to run smoothly with the aftermarket bushing then contact the bushing's manufacturer and see if they will send you another. Or, purchase a new aftermarket disconnector lever from VQ and install it. It has better edges because of the technique they use for making the part.
thanks for the help yall my new hammer bushing just needed a massive polish job, once i smoothed the bushing for bout a hour the gun works perfect again.
I took the easy way out and replaced my disconnector with one from Volquartsen. The VQ doesn't have the bends in it that the current factory disconnector needs to function with the magazine disconnect parts.
Best of luck to you snowplow!
Always learnin' something new here every day. Got a 22/45 LITE coming and have some TK parts and VQ parts to install in it eventually. Always good to learn from the experience of others. Thanks!
I just installed the TK mag disconnect in my 22/45 Target and it works fine. I'd double check the installation.
